Chris Rufo Releases Amazing Documentary on Homelessness

Haglund organization supports message and mission of Rufo documentary

SEATTLE, WA – The Carl Haglund Foundation issued a statement of support for the latest Chris Rufo documentary titled “Homelessness.” The 12 minute documentary strips away many of the myths surrounding homelessness and forces Americans to take a realistic look at its causes. Unlike many exposes on homelessness, Rufo takes an unflinching and completely honest approach highlighting how homeless is fostered by misguided government policies rather than “bad luck” or “the ills of capitalism.”

Most importantly, Rufo exposes how the permissive environment of cities like Seattle attract homeless people from around the country. He shows how the abandonment of law enforcement, failing to enforce of the law, permissive attitudes towards tent cities and easy to get social benefits draw homelessness to the bigger cities on the west coast.

Critical to the documentary’s success is the ability to identify the real causes of homelessness—drug addiction and mental illness. Rufo shows how city governments like Seattle and Portland are doing nothing to address the underlying causes of homelessness for fear of political backlash.

The Carl Haglund Foundation encourages everyone to watch this short documentary and share it with their friends and colleagues.
